its a new product that I have seen advertised in the latest FAMA magazine on page 69. Anyone used it around here?

First, water is pumped through a mechanical filter pad combined with a chemical carbon filter,

I think this translates to a 'sponge' and carbon or one of those PuraPad type filter media. The latter I use from time to time. A sponge would be out for me. As for carbon, I'd use ChemiPure.....just some voodoo that makes me happy.

then through a large surface biological filter before returning the water to your aquarium.

Sounds like ?ceramic beads which I wouldn't use.

Hard to tell from the description. If it is a HOB that is designed to do surface skimming, sounds interesting. Otherwise, I'm still a big fan of AquaClear filters. SH

well yea, aquaclear is good, the only reason this caught my eye was the surface skimming feature. I need a good surface skimmer or something for the tank that is holding my live rock til my new tank comes in.
