I have a Juwel 45g as above which is currently running with an internal filter, an eheim ecco external and an undergravel filter. I plan to remove the internal filter to make more room for the fish. Do you think that the 2 remaining filters will be sufficient? The eheim is model ECCO 2233

Dont really know the answer to that im not familar with those filters, but dont forget if you remove the internal filter you are also removeing the benificial bacteria thats in it, and the other filters will have to play catch up and produce more bacteria for the fishload you are carrying, so basically you are back to a cycling situation.

ok but the other filters have been running for months, is this ok?

Yeah the other filters will have a certain amount of bacteria in them, but by removeing one you lose a third of your overall bacteria, the other filters will have to reproduce more bacteria to make up the deficit, and that will take time and you will have a mini cycle situation, just dont remove the other filters and i wouldnt gravel vac for a while either, but like i say im not familar with the filtering capicity of the other filters so i dont know if they are enough for your tank, do a google on it and find out the filtering capicity and see if its enough, if not you will have to buy another filter or not remove the internal one.
