This is my violet corydoras. : )

Does anybody know how difficult it is to breed violet corydoras? Or better yet does anybody have any experience?

I haven't kept them myself, but I don't think they're very difficult to breed.

The usual corydoras ways should work with them.

Very nice!!  Do you have more of them or just the one?  That particular one is very photogenic.  :)

I have just her. She is very photogenic. She isn't shy of the camera at all!
I've been keeping my eye out for more but I haven't come across any. : (

I have similis now and had them in the past. The first ones were wild caught and they did spawn for me but always ate the eggs. I had neither the time nor space to make an effort to pull the eggs and raise them. The current ones show spawning behavior but are in a community tank so not a chance there either.

Very cute and active, sorry cannot help you with the breeding side of things.

That one in the video is a male, so I think you could do with another 3 females, all I do is a couple days of fresh bloodworm, and then a cold water change - around 40% being sprinkled in from a height, and you can be guaranteed at least 6 clutches of eggs!

When breeding cories you need more males than females. I have seen the reason explained a couple of ways but they amount to a similar result. The female produces more eggs than a single male or two can provide sufficient sperm to fertilize. Multiple males diversify the gene pool so the female seeks to have multiple "partners" to insure some fry will more be the "best."
