What about buying a issolation tank. Dosn't have to be very big say 5 gal.
You can pick some small tanks up cheap with equipment.

Hes beautiful bless him.
When buying issolation tanks you go by the size of the fish.

Probably going to need a bigger tank than 5 gal if he's chubby.

If you've got a Pets at Home near you they've got a clearseal 18"x10"X10" for about £16, comes with lid and some food and water conditioner. Could be ideal if you've already got filter and heater. I think it's about 8 us gallons, 6 imp gallons. Got myself on the other day as a quarantine tank. Not sure if it would be to small, but thought i'd mention it anyway.

If thats to small they've got larger ones for a fairly cheap price.

cant see that being big enough, a tall 125 litre should do it

Do you have plenty of space for an isolation tank. If so I would get something bigger.

are we talking in terms of the isolation tank needing to meet the reccomended min tank size for the species concerned? if so your talking about a 75g tank which i neither have space equipment or finances for .

Maybe is to small for 6 inch fish!!!

Maybe get away with a 20 gallon. But thats quite big if you don't have the space.
I treated a fancy goldfish in an 8 gallon tank and that was fine. The fish was quite big.

nightmare the only palce ive got the kind of space to set that up is in my shed and i wouldnt fancy that

Any space in the kitchen as I use my hospital tank in there.
