check the date your books were written..... they both used to be stronger but years of inbreeding to keep up with the demand has left them genetically very weak, same with guppies.

you'll find old books and older fishkeepers often think neons are strong fish.

Umm both books are 2005..........

Anyways I will keep a mental note of it once I start with the bigger tank.......
