I've just bought 4 baby peppered corys to play with my 2 adult corys. Right now they're in their own tank and 3 of them seem fine, however the 4th is smaller and very dark coloured, almost black as opposed to grey. He doesn't seem to spend much time with the other 3, who are almost always together, and instead seems more lethargic and generally less active.

Is this a common thing with young corys? Might he have some sort of ailment?

Make sure he's getting enough food, everyone else might be hogging it before he can get any.

Same as HorneyFlower.

He may be having more trouble adjusting to all the moving around than the others. He may have gotten mislabeled and be other than pepper. Lots of may be's. Just give him time and make sure he gets fed w/o much hassle.

Watch him for any other symptoms or damage. They can get lots of bumps when getting moved. The color darkness could also be because he doesn't feel well.

How is the little one doing?
I have some that are so light that they are almost silver, and I have some that are almost pure black. They usually move more toward the regular color as they grow, but I have had a few odd ones that didn't.
Is it still staying alone?
