if you saw the ancient piece of rubbish camera i use you would die laughing, it has no settings, no flash and came free when we bought the PC 3 years ago, its basicly just a point and shoot throw away made into a digital.

thats a nice load of Shovelnoses CFC! We just got in some Hemisorubim platyrhynchos at work which are really nice! Theyre only about 4" long at the moment, i believe they grow to about 16", very nice indeed!

Also got some Ornate Birchirs in Quarentine, very cool! I shall remember to tell people how big they get when the time comes to selling them.

You just happened to be there and just happened to have a camera at the ready and just happened to take some amazing pics of some amazing fish.

I sit for hours with a camera at the ready and none of my fish appear at all. I put everything away and do something else and they all come out to play. Life is not fair.

Nice to see someone else with an 18 inch ornate too! I've never managed to find a definative answer as to their maximum size, how big do you think they can get to?
A lot of people say 14 inches but yours and mine have both outgrown that!

14" is pretty small for any bichir, i can only think of 3 Polypterus that remain this size or under. Female ornates can reach 24 inches with males staying slightly smaller at 20", since mine is a female and under 3 years old i quite expect her to grow some more yet. She grew from 3" to over a foot in under a year!!

Yes indeed....i think next time i go in they won't have much left!!

After yours reached 1ft how long did it take her to get to 18" from then? Mines gone from about a skinny 4" to a chunky 1ft in 4-5months.

Just realised your motoro was in the pic aswell, how big is she now?
