hi,

i should have a 30"x12"x12" tank spare in a few months.
i looking into venturing into marine reef.
been looking around for the basics for the moment not getting too deep and i think i'm starting to understand it all.
but i've been having mixed messages for stocking reefs.

this is what made me think, wow i want one.lol

http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/...m.php?news=1191

in that 2ft tank there are pjgama wrasse purple firefish, yellow goby, sharknose goby and 2 common clownfish.

just looking into stocking, something like, 2 clownfish, 1 golden neon goby, 1 clown coby, 1 purple firefish and 1 bangai cardinalfish. but it looks a bit much, can someone help.

many thanks for any help, i dont want to take too much time because it's not a deffinate, still looking into a hillstream tank or community. but overall those reefs stick out more. still coming to terms with some of the prices for some of the equipment.
the tanks had no copper in it at all.
readin loads but still a bit of a blur.

thanks

david

So the tank is a 20 g Long.

The two clowns ONE of the gobies and 1 purple firefish or 1 bangai cardinalfish is more like it.

Some quick things first

1. Read the stickys at the top of the page.

2. Have a look at some of the members tank journals.

3. Look into what corals you want.

4.Take it slow. Bad things happen fast.

I would put the cardinal or firefish first then the goby and finaly the clowns.

yup half way through reading the stickys. :good:

didn't realise clowns were aggressive.lol

Some clowns like Premnas biaculeatus (maroon clown) are really quite aggressive (as I have learned  ) They are really territorial fish in general.

I agree gobies and firefishes are a bit girly and easily intimidated

alrightey. thanks, looks like im sorted. :good:
