Anyone know where i can see a good pic of a fish with velvet.

One of my new fish (blue tail guppy) came with some yellow colouration. I may be imagining it but Im sure he's more yellow than he was. Ive read up and it says velevt appears as tiny yellow spots, but i dont see little spots just large areas of yellow.

It could just be his colours? Does anyone else have blue tailed guppies with some yellow in them?

Switch tanks light out, then get a torch to see if it glows up the yellow bits.

I cant really tell, it looks less yellow under torchlight. Maybe not velvet then?

Its the same poor fish that has finrot. I want to treat the velvet first if thats what it is, as velvet more lifethreatening/spreads faster???

Any signs of flicking and rubbing and laboured breathing, is his fins clamped.

Are what stats ok, if so clamped fins can be a sign of a parasite.

Stats Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0.2. 30% water change since test. Although i feel guilty about the nitrite I hope it is this and not a parasite thats causing it.

The flicking and the clamped fins could be due to the slight nitrite reading, do you have any fish tonic meds.

Sorry yes, but this is just a tonic, if you have had a parasite more than likely your fish does have a parasite, i would get a velvet med, good luck.
