Does anyone know how much these can be bought for in the UK?

Any breeders known in the UK? I hear Tolak is known the in the states :p
Other hints and tips for these fish welcome.

How many can be kept in the RIO 125 both with other suitable fish and as a species tank.

Also I would love for members to post pics of thier Veil Angels here please!

Thanks

I have seen them for sale in the Bristol area for about £10 per fish. The wholesaler I used in the area always had some in stock for about the same price as normal tailed angels, so they are not particularly rare.. well worth asking a good LFS if they can be bought in especially for you.

Personally, I would buy a tank which is twice as big and keep around 6 with lots of plants and either a school of tetras or rasboras as dithers and a school of corys for the bottom.. but conventionally, you can fit a pair into the Rio 125, preferably by buying about 6 or so young ones and growing on till you can pick out the best pair once they start going off in twos as well as a small school of dithers and something for the bottom.

And well worth avoiding nippy fish if you want to keep those tails where they are.

Good news, i know a fantastic UK breeder of Supa veil Tail Angels, will get a piccy later of some of the youngsters I got from him :good:

That would be good. Where is the breeder located.

£10 - thats expensive for angels is it not - unless they are quite a large size. I was thinking of getting youngsters...

Hey

My LFS has about 6 Veil Tails in for a grand total of £30, well thats what he offered me as price but i do a fair bit of business with him so no doubt that price was a discounted one.

The veils were all around 3.5" or so.

Swish fish located in scholes west yorkshire, dont know if your close but thought id let you know =-)

What can I say, south west is naturally expensive! lol

The Breeder in in mid/south Wales but posts using a reliable courier (and the fish arrive very happy & healthy!).
I will pm an email address to you.
Lisa.

also waterzoo in peterborough has some in

Here are some piccys of the Supa Veil Blacks that I got from the breeder, please excuse the piccys I just got quick snaps so they do not show the finnage off properly (it is stunning) the breeder stocks other colours too.
Please ignor the little ones in the piccys, they are my own homebred black & platinum specials. Lisa

If you know anything about angelfish colour genetics I can let you know what the genetics of these are.

Thanks for the pics. Much appreciated.

Hope you dont mind me asking, but the angels fins look torn/bitten? Is this the case?

 sorry, I hadn't noticed until you said, have been short of space lately so they were put with a large group of tini boppers, probably thought luch had arrived  , am hoping to move them about later today.

Ok thanks.

Would be nice to see more detailed image of your bred fish ;) and perhaps some of your set up! I always find these things so interesting.

Sorry, I had better stop. Enjoy, Lisa.

if the camera isnt lying and i were to guess, i would say that is a Pinoy Clown Veil (D/g - S/Z - pb/pb - V/+)?
or is that green coming from somewhere else? beautiful fish. have a better picture of it?

Will try to get a decent picture later, but unfortunatly not Pinoy (you can't get them over here in the UK yet as far as I know but I am only a few months off producing Pinoy Angelfish  ), as far as I am aware from chats with the breeder they are D/Gm - V/V (Hybrid Black Supa Veil) & no pb genes.
Thanks, Lisa.
