Various Fish For Sale

All fish bar the Oscar sold. Thanks to the respective people they went too.

Oscar reserved for hackmaster who is hopefully picking up on 28th March :)

All fish are ine and seem to be settling in nicely! Thanks James the Sevs are awesome!!

BTW, how come yours was so dark?

Oh, and your JD's are out of this world!! :good: As is your tank!!!!

You stated the reason mine is so dark, its because he's settled. Those two you just took off of me will colour up just the same, if not more. Mine isnt even fully settled in the tank you saw him in today as he was put in there only 2 days ago. When they're happy and healthy they are a beautifull dark green/brown/red. Magnificent fish.

Yes, i'm a lil gutted he was being shy when you came. Whens he's out and swimming with his finnage all primed he is a beaut. The tank isnt bad lol. Thanks for the compliment none-the-less

Tank isn't bad? What size is it and where did you get it from? I bet it cost a bomb!!

My sevs are starting to move about from one side of the tank to the other now. The fins are all up which is a good sign. They're still quite red/pink but their heads are starting to darken now. Is the red/pink their stress colour? The plec is also fantastic.

The redish/pink they will have now will be stress yes. Give them a day or two, and they'll colour up more. Certainly after a week and some good feeding they will be near enough back to what they were with me. They have some growing yet, and maturation colour to really come through, so you've got some good growth to come :)

The tank needs some tweaking with rock arrangement and what-not. The rocks you may have noticed on the left were plonked in untill i can get my hands in properly and submerge them and bank the sand in places. Haha, so it may looks good, but its not my idea of how i want it.

The tank itself is a custom built 4ft tank. Measuring 48"x16"x22" (LxWxD). Built by a company called ND Aquatics, they've had alot of mention around the forum. They are a very good company with exceptional build quality. I'd use them again and recommend them to anyone. I can't actually remember how much the tank cost, wasnt too expensive in my opinion.

Only 4ft? seemed like 6 to me! lol. What have you been feeding them on? They have really darkened up now, love em! The barbs are really effective.

Just scanned your journal for the tank, impressive to say the least.

Its because its somewhat of a narrow tank for 4ft. Most standard 4ft tanks come atleast 18" wide, mine had to be 16" wide to fit the drawers, thus why i went custom made.

I feed them on Tetradoromin flake, Hikari Cichlid Gold and Hikari Cichlid Staple, and the odd bunch of cabbage, peas or cuccumber. They seem to prefere the flake the most, think its because of their mouth size.

I'm glad you like them :) They are certainly an unusual and striking Severum to keep. Quite hard to come by aswell!

Very interesting. I have the Cichlid Gold. Will have to have a trip to the lfs and get the other things for them. I think i NEED a bigger tank for them so i can leave my angels in the tank they are all in now. :hey:

Thats how it starts, then you end up in my situation where you sit back and realise you have 6 tanks running

My lfs has ordered a pair in for me and they will be ready next Friday not the blues though cause they are £100 each

I'm still happy with the jd's though...

And were still on for Sunday James no problem :D

OMG - £100 each! Is that the price for just one juvi EB Jack? By golly, i know they are rather expensive, but £100 for one! The picture in my avatar was my EB Jack as he was in perhaps November 2008, i bought him in October 2008 for £25, i bought two at the time, male and female. I lost the female after a month or so though.

Sunday 27th March we agreed didnt we. I've just emptied his tank right now, so its just glass, water and an Oscar in currently. I assume your collecting him from me right? We havnt discussed that, i've just been going on assumption.

Thaw what the chap told me on the phone for large he said... He said it wouldn't be worth us getting them in to sell...

Yes the 27th it's next Sunday, and yes I will be collecting shouldn't be too much of a run for me, I was going walfe on the saturday anyway so I
may aswell go coventry instead

Looks like you've got some money on your hands if you get them to stay alive

Emphasis on my breeding project is certainly a priority of mine again now. I hadnt realised they had become so expensive! Probably why i havnt seen any in shops for a while!

Oscars settling in really well he's a beaut too thanks James

My female blue acara's not too keen on him... Soon as he opens his mouth and covers her nose she backs off hehe, and she's the one that keeps goin for him too...!!!
