Wandering what else I can feed my fish to give them a more varied, healthy diet.

Currently feed regular tropical flakes. A few times a week frozen blood worms…

Occasionally I will use pellets as my EBAs like to sift through the gravel and eat from the ground.

They all go mad for the blood worms although I know there is debate about their nurtrional value.

Is there anything else I could be feeding to give them a bit more variance.

Inhabitants are angelfish, EBA’s and Congo tetras.

Brine shrimp, other brands of dried foods like fluval bug bites... As long as there are not a ton of fillers in the foods and you give a variety of the different foods they will be very happy and healthy.
I view blood worms as a treat, some say they are healthy others not, brine shrimp are packed with good stuff though

Frozen foods can include: brineshrimp, bloodworms, daphnia, mysis shrimp, prawn/ shrimp, marine mix (prawn, fish & squid blended up). You can also use different types of fish/ bait from fishing stores (freezer section) or the seafood counter at supermarkets.

To use prawn, defrost one and remove the head, shell and gut (thin black tube in body) and throw these bits away. Use a pair of scissors to cut the remaining prawn into little bits and offer 1 or 2 pieces at a time. Let the fish eat until full, then stop feeding and remove uneaten food.

Live foods can include small non toxic insects like aphids, flies, mosquitoes, mozzie larvae, weevils & their larvae & moths, ants & ant eggs, termites & eggs.

Live brineshrimp, daphnia, and blackworms (not bloodworms) are sold by lots of pet shops and can be offered to fish. You can hatch brineshrimp eggs and feed the baby brineshrimp (nauplii) to the fish.

You can culture micro, grindal & white worms for the fish. Some people feed earthworms but you need to use a small species of worm or cut the bigger ones up ad they are gross and slimy when you do that.

---------------------
Freeze dried brineshrimp, bloodworms, daphnia, tubifex can be bought from pet shops and some fish eat them but not all fish will.

Have a few different types of flake and pellet food and vary them.

The main thing with dry foods is to try and use them up in 1 month otherwise they take in moisture and start to go off. If you have a lot of dry food and won't use it up within one month, put most of it in a couple of ziplock bags or another air tight container, and pop it in the freezer.
