Never heard of vampire shrimp. Looks very similar to bamboo shrimp that i have seen

Atya gabonensis, also known as Vampire or Cameroon Fan Shrimp, nice looking specimen in video clip.

These guys grow pretty big, ~15cm. Got a feeling they are quite social too, might be worth looking into if that has not come up in your research.

Hadnt heard about that no, i'd love to get one or two more, but cant for a while, skint now
Its in my small tank at the minute, will be moving it downstairs when it gets large enough

I have two of them and love them! They remind me of Popeye with the big biceps lol. They will compete with Bamboo shrimp for the best spot in the current. There was a bit of a shoving match between my vampire's and bamboo's in the beginning but they've all settled in nicely now. I can't wait until they are full grown! Beautiful shrimp, you will love them
