UV sterilizers

speed in a uv is important as well i say that the tank sould cycle once an hour for good parisites killing power at first that really didnt make since to me but i was talking to a dr. of vet. med. and he was explaning to me that to pic. myself walking acrossthe street to a nebors house in the summer if you walk slow once you will feel the suns heat but if you run across the street really fast you will not feel the suns heat that much so my uv is set at 75 gal. an hour on a 75 gal. tank it has been running for a while now and so far every thing is great my fish , inverts and corals are doing good well there is my two cent lol hope you can get some uses out of it...... :D

That's sort of right. Actually, you need to calculate based on the type of sterilizer (spiral, straight through or surround) contact with the bulb, and size of the bulb. Somewhere (google search it) there is a calculator to let you know what GPH you need to kill different types of organisms you just plug in the parameters it asks for.

I needed to go under 1.5 x my water volume to get parasite kill on my f/w.
