Today is boxing day sale madness all over and was out at the LFS I normally don't deal with. Its boxing day and slaes are booming, so we picked up some things as well as some plants! ^^

The plants we picked up to add to our 55g Discus planted was Micro Sword, Java Fern(Again it always dies on me), Java fern has the weird ends to it, and Utricularia Graminifolia and it was marked Utricularia SP. ..... Although I have the tage Utricularia graminifolia is what it says it is. This is definitly a rare plant where I am from and actually the first time I have seen it where I am, but it might not actually be a rare plant and it is to me, even our LFS's don't carry Ricca and this is a well known plant!

So we decided we wanted to try this as a grown cover and see how it works (We are still running into issues with ricca staying on our log in our tank) I read the proper way was to devide it up like into 4 peices and we had a huge peace and ended up getting 5 out of it and planted them pretty far apart.

Has anyone grown this underwater with huge success, I have seen on the net that many have had it grow quick in there tanks and some slow.
I am running C02 with ferts EI dosing, High lighting(tank setup can be seen in my signature). I heard it can be difficult to grow. Basically we are now getting rid of alot of the stem plants we grown for many months and now going with some harder plants to grow. (This plant was expensive )

It is hard to grow, it likes lots of CO2. And some report that it does better in inert substrates too.

Okay I have high tech setup so 30 ppm of co2 and dose hard ei dosing, also have sand with middle layer clay and bottom layer peat and vermaculite, you think it might work out for me and high lighing as well 2.9wpg. I guess I can just cross my fingers it would make a really awsome carpet if it does work out

There's just no telling, it seems to act differently for everyone, let us know how you get on though

Seems it likes to float in my tank great! As if I don't have enough duct weed it wants to add to the mess on the top of the tank!!!!

herm have to think of something else maybe that has more established roots and I don't really want Hair grass neither
