Utricularia Graminifolia

Just popped in to Aquajardin and they had some in stock! So had a good look at it, the plants weren't in the best of health but you could see the potential and it would definitely make a great 'lawn' affect given its leaf shape.

Unfortunately they only have 3 pots and I think I need 5-6 for my needs, will see if I can get a load from somewhere.

sam? did you see the new display tank they are using it in?

i found it in there on sunday aswel, didn't have enough money though :(

:good:

I sure did, looks really good, once the UG fills out it'll look wicked, very sleek and minimal. When I asked if they had any more of the UG in stock he said he didnt as he'd used most of it in that tank! Wish more shops were like that!

the tank looked very good before they changed it aswel, there new java moss looked abit dead aswel lol.

anyway sorry for going off subject about a LFS.

:good:

It certainly looks like the perfect carpet plant to me, thanks for th info Zig

Would fish, fry and shrimp not get trapped in it? If I find out a bit more about this plant and a source where to get it, i'm deffinately going to give it a try!

Nice post zig !

Well I've just taken delivery of a new 60cm tank and came online to find some inspiration on what hardscape and plants to use in it ..... I think the foreground is taken care of now

Hmm interesting thought ..... What a turn around. Now we'll find people asking "What plants ate my fish"

But seriously, I have a few small CRS and wouldnt want them to end up as plant food !

Well I read on another forum that they thought the bladder was to small to eat baby shrimp, but I'm not sure maybe baby shrimp and fry. I think fish would be ok.

My guess is it eats tiny bugs, but I would try other forums where someone might have more experience with this plant. Tell me what you find out. :good: :)

Ok I just read that there is no way they can eat even baby shrimp. It said that their bladder openins are only big enough for microrganisms to enter. :good: :D :hyper:
