I recently had some imported fish arrive.  Since these particular fish are wild caught and are notorious for having internal parasites -- I have dosed Flubendazole.  However these fish are also very susceptible to velvet so I was curious if a copper medication such as Cupramine could be dosed along with the Flubendazole if symptoms were to be shown of a velvet infection.

Hmmm, interesting question. I can't imagine a significantly negative interaction, however there's a possibility that they may simply react to form an unusable compound.

There is though, the consideration that flubendazole is a fairly good antiprotozoal agent, so may treat velvet anyway........I can't give you data though, just anecdotal comment and pharmacological knowledge of it's use in humans.

Oh that would be really interesting if it would possibly treat velvet as well.  Hmm something to look into for sure.  I have been referred by a friend to contact National Fish Pharm and ask if there would be negative reactions so that is another option I will be pursuing for info.
