Hi guys.
My other half is a medical engineer who is currently setting up a FE co2 system for our 240 medium planted tank.
he is a very clever boy, but something is puzzleing him.
He has a solenoid knocking around that we can use, and he has ordered a needle valve regulator. We will be setting up the system to a timer.
His question is.... If he has a hose coming from the reg into the solenoid, and then through another hose into the tank, obviously the timer will shut off the solenoid at night. The reg will surely still remain open, which means the hose coming from the reg will build up with co2. The solenoid then switches on and will then dump the built up gas into the tank in one go.

Is he missing something really obvious ?

My solenoid is connected right to the regulator, there's no hose between them to build pressure. I'm having a hard time picturing what your setup looks like.

He was looking at a Dennerle set up (picture on the box in LFS).
He has now looked at their website a realised they have a widget that controls it. Night time cut off valve.
Anyway... I think he has realised that we may have the wrong reg on order.
I don't understand half of it !
He'll suss it out, I'm sure.

Thanks guys.

When the solenoid opens its takes time for the pressure to build up behind your diffuser. Shouldn't all dump into the tank when it's set up right with the needle valve. Depends on method of diffusion.
