I’ll skip the hellos and get straight to the point. I noticed one of my rainbows missing, so I turned up the tank and found him stuck under the driftwood. Some of his scales are messing and he is swimming irregularly. My first instinct was water change immediately and dose salt in the tank. What else should I do? I will post a video of him swimming shortly. (The tank is very dirty because I turned up the substrate)

you should give him melafix if he has wounds. it treats wounds and infections.

just use salt and daily water changes for 2 weeks.

2 heaped tablespoons of salt per 2 litres of water. keep salt in there for 2 weeks.

75% water change and gravel clean every day for 2 weeks.

clean the filter if it hasn't been done in the last 2 weeks.

edited to fix my illiteracy

Was he actually 'stuck' under the wood? If so then he is probably just injured slightly and hopefully will recover. Unless you have fallen behind with maintenance, I wouldn't make any water changes as any changes can cause stress. Also, only add chemicals (including salt) as a last resort if you have a specific problem that you need to treat as all chemicals will stress fish and mostly do more harm than good. In addition, most will also damage filter bacteria to some extent, do again, add only if you have to!
I assume those bottom fish are Siamese Algae Eaters and not Chinese Algae Eaters? If they are CAE's, then I think they are the culprits!
I've only kept rainbows once and found them to be very disruptive. They would chase each other and fight and disturbed the other fish in the process. They would frequently gang up and bully one individual, do perhaps that happened here when you weren't watching? I gave mine away.
On a different note, but for that same reason, I don't think angel fish are suitable tank mates. However, that was my one and only experience, so perhaps I was unlucky!

Yeah the poor guy was stuck under the wood for at least an hour. My main concern is his swim bladder. I was hoping clean water and salt would help it to recover if possible.

Those are SAE, I am aware that the Chinese algae eaters are large and very rambunctious. These guys just keep to themselves.

The angels don’t bother the rainbows, they will chase each other however. Because I was gone for a week they were more feistier, which can be seen on the lemon angelfish. They tend to ease up when they get full bellies again lol.
