I think the Blue Jay is a dye job. Could be wrong on that though.
proberbly why there is no ref online

hey dannio2004 thanks alot on that name search!!! as far as a dye is concerned its color is not blue at all infact all the three fishes that i have been searching the scientific names for are grey kinda and the blue jay has a a greyesh white color and is kinda long in length(compared to the Gymnocorymbus ternetzi ) .
thanks again to u all !!!
:)

i was browsing to that site and found out (maybe i am wrong) the blue ray tetra
is actually a blue tetra and its scientific name is Actinopterygii
also known as ray-finned fishes.... so they ppl at the shop mustve come up with a bright idea of calling it a "BLUE RAY TETRA" !
hope i am right !
