Ok, I am having a problem, I just put some gravel in (washed it) but there is crud stuff at the top that my fish are trying to eat, I waving my hand around to scare them ANY HELP.

I had these bits when i was washing my first batch of sand. I think its just organic like wood and leaves. Nothing too dangerous i hope.

Did you steralise the gravel with boiling water.
