the title says it all, also is it normal for them to take a whole bunch in their mouths to bring up into the nest. this is a maiden breeding pair and it is taking them a while to get it, but they are slowly getting there.

Breeding habits vary from one betta couple to another. Your bettas are acting normal, don't worry. :hey:

Yes this is natural i watched mine take about 20 in its mouth & spit into the nest!! Its just the dad making sure they dont stray :good:

You say he takes a bunch and spits them in the nest. That is normal. However, in the title you say that the parents snack on the eggs, which generally does not happen, though I do know that in cichlids eggs with fungus are eaten (not sure if this works with anabantoids).

well they put most of them in the nest, but snacked on a few hear and there. like every few mouthfuls they would eat. i'm actually kind of glad they did as i would hve had like 1000 eggs from a female that was VERY eggy. they went for hours and she dropped like 50 each time.
