I know I know!!!!!!!!!!!

its hell, and the mess I made everytime! took almost as long to clean up as to change the water. yes it is worth it and I can also claim to be the most efficient water changer in essex now after all that practice! it does get better I promise, it even turned into a game in our house, who could do the most water in the least time! as you can imagine our lives were very small in the days of constant water change :hyper:

Not really. I use my local Pets At Home, as I get a discount there as my sister works there. There used to be a good one, Aqualand but its closed down. There is another one, at Bybrook Barn in Ashford, its a fish shop in a garden centre. Its quite expensive but they have a wider range of fish, including more exotic fish species such as arrowana, and discus. they also sell marine species. Its furthur away from me than pah, so I don't use it often.

Well, I don't have any money of my own so at the moment, im monopolizing my sister's test kits, and her aqua safe. I've used an awful lot of her aqua safe and it cost her 7 quid! whoops!

The levels are the same, except the nitrites are 0.50ppm. I am doing another water change tonight, so i will wc the tank and test it again.

Sounds like your on the right track. I remember my last cycle. There were nights I could barely sleep. I was so worried about my fish. I even had this crazy nightmare about my pleco. It all pays off though. And the constant w/cing is worth it. Despite having no life for a couple weeks. Your lucky your sister has a test kit. I had to go to my lfs everyday. They were getting real sick of seeing me.

That's why you go out and buy a bunch of feeder guppies to do your cycling with. They're only 15 cents each and quite ugly so who cares if you lose one, right? Still do the water changes and supply media from a cycled tank. Then all U got to do is feed them once a day and remove dead bodies if there ever is some. That's how I cycled my last tank and didn't lose any fish due to anything besides being eaten.
