I came across a thread on Planet Catfish from 2010 wherein the aquarist mentions a 24-year old Synodontis eupterus; no idea if that fish is still alive.

Thanks so much but I have not seen anyone else say they have one that's over 25yrs old.

How often did you clean the tank? What size tank? Tankmates?

Our tank gets cleaned every 6 - 8 weeks.

Quick search says they only live 25 years, so if it HAS lived 34 years, that is certainly exceptional.

Nooo. The place closed down a long time ago.

Nope never bought another one and when we realized he was getting older and he had gone through 4 different tanks sizes and he has had at least 5 cases of ick from temperature changes.
