Upgrading To A 75 Gallon Tank

I found a 75 gallon tank at Petsmart today for 199 plus a stand for 179. I would MUCH rather have this tank. I also found out that my Petsmart carries the Panda Cory Catfish, which I really want as well.

Now, if I get a 75 gallon tank, will THIS new number of fish be okay......or will I still be overstocked?

6-7 Guppies
10-12 Mollies
5-6 Platys
8-11 Cory Cats..........I have 8, want to add 3 more
3 Clown Loaches......they have the small and medium sized ones at Petsmart, and I would get the small ones

The actual level will probably be fine but the mollies need salt in their water and the corys and clown loaches, both being scaleless won't do well in a tank with salt. Also, keep in mind that you will be overrun with fry. With that number of livebearers (assuming 1 male to 3 females meaning about 15 or 16 females), you will be looking an a new batch of fry at least a couple times a week and possibly once a day, especially when some of the fry get large enough to start having fry.

Well, I have Dalmation Mollies right now with no salt and they are doing fine with my Cory's. The mollies just had about 15 babies, and my guppy just had hers. I guess I'll just have to get all males from now on, and start giving away some of the babies once they get big enough. My mom wants me to wait until Christmas to get this tank, but I can NOT wait that long!!

Plus, won't the mollies/guppies/clown loaches eat some of the fry? I know some will survive but I figured some wouldn't make it

The other fish will definitely eat most of the fry so if you let nature take it's course, you won't have many additions for a while but you will have some that make it.
