i currently have a 10gl tank with rock gravel im currently in the search of about a 36gl tank to upgrade too but i cant seem to find the right one for the right price with the stand and hood included. but hoping that it happens soon i was just wondering if i should continue to use the rock gravel or not, i was thinking about switching to sand.

all suggestion and recommendations would be greatly appreciated! :good:

Very few fish prefer gravel. Most fish don't have a preference, but those that do generally prefer sand. Most of these fish are bottom dwellers and the sand is a bit kinder for them. I also think sand looks more natural. One of the upsides of sand is that the dirt stays on top, making it easier to clean than gravel.

Most new tanks are pretty expensive. Have you considered going second hand? You can pick up some real bargains on eBay. Depending on where you live you might have to have some patience to wait for the right tank for the right price to come up in your area, but as I said, there are some real bargains to be had.

alright ill switch to sand then i was thinking it looks a little bit better anyway even though my blue gravel looks really good i wish i could post a picture of it but i have not figured out how to do that on this forum yet.
