The compact light I've got comes with a clip that goes on the bulb and would support it okay if you drilled a small hole in teh hood.
Thinking about my original idea, it's rubbish because you'd have to lift the whole light unit out any time you wanted to clean/put your hand in the tank. Attaching the additions lights to the flaps or just resting them on the cross bar means you could flip them up to gain access without having to take the whole fitting off the tank.
So any more bright ideas I have......ignore them!!!!!!!
