Here's my male crowntail Betta "Wallace" aka Wallie in his 1.5 gallon. I modified the airtube to the corner, changed out my gravel from red to a more natural white, and added some slate pieces. I also made the custom grass plants and modified the sword a little bit. Water is a little green from some Fungus Clear I added. I'm upgrading him to a 6g eclipse in a few weeks. I'll post pics when everything is up a running.

I would suggest converting to silk plants as plastic plants have been seen to rip Betta fins. Plus on the side silk plants look more real.

He did tear part of his tail on a sharp blade that was close to the side. It his favorite spot to turn, sit and watch me. This is why I modified it, the tank is just to small for him. I also dremeled down the edges of slate.

Last week I went to a Ben Franklin crafts store and found some plastic plants. A lot of it looks better than the linear stuff at the LFS (more gradient & texture) and cheaper. I didn't see many silk plants, mostly flowers etc. I'm going to try a 12g Dwarf Puffer tank soon.
