update

I would only feed her apples, carrots, and romain lettuce in small amounts...and I mean maybe once or twice a week in VERY small portions. Too much can give her horrible diariea, and be hurting more than helping. The best diet are vitamin pellets (look like large blocks of hard grey....most pet stores sell them in bulk), A good vitamin enritched Hammy food, the dried corn, fruits and veggies two days a week...and there you go. That is the best odds diet. I think seven is a good number I wouldn't find anymore homes, you might have some dissapointed ppl....lol, England is too far for me. Ha! Keep us posted. :D

it's ok :D we all live and learn ! I'm sure she will be ok just being fed cheese the once.
I've always fed my hammies small tiny pieces of cheese (and other breeders and keepers i know do) and been working as a veterinary nurse for the last 7 years and never had a problem or seen a problem caused by feeding cheese but i suppose theres always a first :S
Well I'm a veterinary nurse too and kept / bred many hamsters for 10+years - and yes, I have seen infected pouches it which a truly horrible sight......to me it's just not worth the risk

Well if mice eat cheese, cant see a peice hurting a hamster.
Mice do not have cheek pouches.

I'm not having a go at you or anything as everyone is different and thats what makes us all unique and all our views are important and valid :)

All i'm saying is if its a very small amount the hamsters more likely to eat it then pouch it. The goodness that comes from it outweighs the bad points in my opinion especailly for a soon to be lactating mother. I've seen far worse injuries caused by seeds and nuts that come in every commercial hamster food to be more worried about feeding them then a little cheese now and again :)

thx for all the replies i havent give her any more cheese as im not prepared to take the risk as some of u said but shes doing rearly well just on normal hammy food, fruit and veg and vitamin tablits for her water.i think shes ready any day now to drop the babys so 2 days ago i cleaned her poop corner and give her fresh bedding of toilet paper and now just left her apart from food and water.i will probly be putting pics on here wen there older.any more info would be great.thx. :D
