i got a 90gallon tank a few days ago im starting fishless cycling right now..but i'v added 2 other sharks with my one sliver shark and they all seem very happy and dart around the tank all the time now, it is a small tank for them just a 30gallon but its only for another 3 weeks and they're 2inchs maybe 3..then they are off to they're new home in a 90 gallon tank..

inside of starting a new topic im just goign to ask if there is any suggestions about some tank buddys for these fish as i said there only about 2-3inchs big right now.

3 sharks? silver tips? bala? sorry but I know you say silvers are they all or just the one? some good tank mates are clown knives as the get to be about 18 inches... aswell you could always get some live bearers in there so when they breed, you sharks always have a fresh supply of live food  hey if your sharks breed then the babies even have some food ;) anyways lemme know what kind of sharks and I'll get back to some tank mates :D

They're silver sharks, aka bala sharks. They're pretty peaceful, and have been kept with small fish like neons but I wouldn't risk it once they get big. I'm thinking maybe some of the larger tetras like emperor tetras or yellow banded tetras would look nice. Are you going to have live plants?

Ohhhh balas  I'm an idiot sorry :p anyways try a clown or ghost knife, they are really beautiful fish, also like neon said, some of the larger tetras should be good but aswell Rosy barbs and tiger barbs are great schooling fish and in a 90 gallon tank :D lots of room for them say 20 of each :D

I'd be a little afraid of putting tiger barbs in there because balas are very skittish fish and I'm afraid they could be foreced into hiding. If you do that, maybe you should wait until the balas get bigger, say about 6 inches. But if you want to do it sooner, go ahead, I might just be paranoid :D .

20 of each fish?! thats alot of fish, i think that would overstocking it wouldnt it?

and to answer n3on yes i want to get..3-5 different types of plants in there. im not sure what ones i have in there now but i have 2 in there so all together theres 5-7 plants in there :hyper: :hyper:

Not at all! I'm putting around 43 fish into a 55 gallon tank... you're think more along the lines of the rule of thumb, 1" of the fishes maximum size per gallon of water, HA! Think of it like this, goldfish need 20 gallons of water per fish and they can get upto a foot, where as neons grow only to max 1.5" and need 20 gallons of water every 15 fish  apply that rule very loosly, if your tank is well set and you have good filtration and a good air pump then 60 fish in a 90gallon could even work :D

wow..i just googled them and they would look good all together!! :):D :D i cant wait to set this 90 with fish, its only my 2ed tank all my by self, im only 16, in march so all the other tanks have been helped by my dad or brother-in-law :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

I'm not sure you understood what Fishkrazy said. I would think about 20 tiger barbs, 20 Rosey barbs OR yellow banded barbs, and the balas. That'd be nice. Plus bottom feeders, like 4 clown loaches and 15 2-3 inch cories.

yeah that would look nice to.. :good: that would have alot of colour, and i like that, but im wondering if all the fish would like plants, and i have a caslte which the fish can swim into and hide in there, think they would like that? im not to sure i'v never had barbs

Very proud of you  I'm 18 and my biggest tank is 75 gallons I do em all by myself  my dad trys to help but he has no idea what he's doing... trust me, if you want a site with some info on barbs and balas go here ---> http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com <--- Great site with loads of info on barbs and more :D and I agree with neon clown loaches and 15 corys would be nice :D get peppered corys or pandas they tend to stay smaller I've got 1 peppered corry full Grown at 2" cute little guy he'll be going into my 55 gallon restart with 5-7 more buddies lol

great idea just hit me right after i posted that last one, is there a fish i can breed, such as a neon or soemthiong small that the sharks can freed off of..?i have another small tank which my shark is in and 3 neons..that i can use for breeding? :hyper:

   Guppies are the quickest breeders and if your going to get them, breed them in your... 30gallon you said? regardless, breed them in the tank you currently have your sharks in get atleast 6-9 females and one 1 male for every 3 females, in this case 2-3 :)
