One of my platies (I think it's a Sunset Variatus) has suddenly developed strange white things all over his body, but not on the fins. It doesn't look like Ich though, I've seen that before, and he's not flicking or rubbing against things. They appear to be small white globules, and it looks as if they're growing out from underneath the scales. He's been wriggling about non stop as if swimming against a strong current.

Water stats: 0 Ammonia, 0 Nitrite, 0 Nitrate.

No symptoms in other fish, although all of them seem to be pretty aggressive at times.

Do you mean small white bubbles.
Any excess slime on the gills or body.

is it possible to load a pic up of the sick fish.

It's like loads of little blobs of white slime on the scales, not really the gills or fins. I took a picture but you can't see the white stuff.

Is there a treatment I can buy from my LFS?

It the blobs look slimey it could be a parasite to bacterial.
If there no signs of flicking and rubbing I would take the bacterial route.

OK thanks, I'll go and buy some bacterial medicine tommorow and see how it goes. Is there a serious risk of my other fish becoming infected? Do I need to somehow isolate this one?

Yes when there a desease in a tank other fish are at risk.
I would medicate the whole tank.
Slime build up can be bad water quallity, parasites, bacterial.
If there no flicking and rubbing I would add a bacterial med.

How long have you had the fish, had any ph swings.
