I noticed these tiny little orange crayfish at my local aquarium store.
Firstly I noticed they were in a Discus tank, and the tank was very heavily plants….yes I thought it was strange to!

They were bright orange in colour, and very small – I’d say an inch in length.

Just like below:

Can anyone give me some information on them.i thought all but the blue crayfish were illegal in the UK?

Thanks

Ah i actually had not of thought of that.
See i wanted to believe they were crayfish so much i forgot about the chance of them being long-arm shrimp!

Still though, none of those pictures in the link matched that of what i saw.

Hmm but the moe i think of it, the more it was probably a long arm shrimp.

As I said it is more than likely, somehow I doubt that your LFS would risk dealing in illegal imports of certain crustaceans ;)

All of that said, Long Armed Shrimp (and any potentially illegal crayfish that it could be) dont make good tankmates for fish, they are aggressive and boisterous causing lots of damage.
Probably best avoided all round ;)
