Unidentified Crab Captured!

I just captured this rather large and unidentified crab in my saltwater aquarium last night and am holding him in a small glass until I can find out what and where this thing came from. I'm worried that it may be harmful and that it might explain why all of my button pollyps slowly started disappearing. Can anybody please help me to indentify this crab as friend or foe?

that is so ugly..no offence but..i would kill it in case it does harm..............but reserch for now..no need to kill...

I think it's rather pretty. Probably came in as a lavae in your live rock.

Possibly a juvenile Pilumnus hirtellus (Mud Crab). Young are white and turn to a deep red colour as they age.
