Hi, I got a fiesty crowntail, I put him in a divided tank and he was happy. I put a divide up if he just wouldn't stop flaring etc; mainly for the other bloke. He could be just sleepy, but he stopped eating. At first he was eating very well. He still flares occasionally, but what can I do to make him happy? Its so hard for me with crowntails, I lost one and I don't want to lose another. I like my fishies happy. He's way too aggressive to put him in with other fish like a community. he's got ample space, its warm enough, its filtered. I'll do a test later.
Is there something else I could be doing to make him happy?

cheers, xan

You can try Blackwater Extract. It worked great with my betta when he was paranoid and not wanting to eat.
I'm not sure what else you can do but I'm sure someone else will have some suggestions. :)

cheers. i'll try putting peat into the filter media (pH down i think is a bit harsh, and I don't get bw extract here.) But peat will do it as well, and sounds like bettas like slightly acidic water.

I'll put it into all my Betta tanks, methinks...

Any more suggestions?
