I am going on holiday at the end of november and intend to do alot of snorkelling, does anyone reccomend a good underwater camera???

I know its prob not the best place to ask but iam reading articles on here every day, so i just thought i would ask.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Richard

if you already have a digital camara you can get underwater casings for them i have one with my fugi and it is great they can be quite pricey though.

edited was due to spelling mistake

Really, I didnt know that Callum Any idea where to get a cover for Digi Cameras

I have just booked a Holiday to Sharm In Egypt for November

Yeah i have found them on the internet Chac,

you can get them from most camera sites. I found www.pixmania.co.uk to be prob the cheapest, like callum said though they can be quite pricey.

Chac, have you been to Sharm before, i went in March. Thats the thing that got me hooked on marine fish i think!!!!! Not looked back since!!!!

My brother went to sharm twice and my sister once. I went to phucket in thailand instead.

We used a disposable underwater camera and have to say i wish i had bought the case for my digital camera. I've regretted it so much ever since i got there and went snorkelling the first day.

The underwater camera's lack quality and it's very hard to take accurate photos. The fish keep moving and trying to see through a small view hole with a mask on is really hard. If you do go for a disposable, make sure it has a flash. It'll make the pictures a bit better, but with your digital camera you can just keep taking as many pics as you want. With the disposable you're limited and careful of what you take. With digital it's just click click click :)

Yeah, you can even get housings for digital camcorders too :) My uncle and I use one when we dive

No I aint been to Sharm before

I have already told the G/F that she wont be seeing me during the day as I will be snorkling/scuba diving & I only expect to get a tan on my back

Cant wait to get in the water :hey: :hey:

Going to Kenya, heard its ok for snorkelling, we wanted to do the safari thing to, so thought Kenya we could combine the two.

Chac the fish in sharm are amazing, are you diving or snorkelling. I was so surprised at the actual size of the fish compared to what you see in LFS.

I think i am starting to move away from the casing for the digital camera, i need to buy a new digital camera and i think if i buy a case aswell, i might be spending my safari money.

Does anyone know of a good quality disposable camera, with a flash?

Thanks

really depends on what we have time for

Have done a bit of Snorkling, Suba & Free Diving in the Gulf of Mexico on a few occasions :good: but only have a week in Sharm so have to get on the goiod side of the G/F

(Also swam with Sharks in Mexico then later went deep sea fishing & caught a 5' bull)

i may be going to Key West in November, will be up for much snorkling and snubaring.
