i have 4 adult guppies , 15 fry in a 24 gallon UK tank so is it over or under or just right

Unless these are all the same sex the tank will very soon be overstocked although it isn't at the moment.

i have 1
4 month old male in there & the others are female

& the tank been running for about 4 months
in there now is scissor tail but i am moving them to my bigger tank
do i have os little fry coz the scissor tails are eating the fry

One of my tanks is well overstocked but I have found a new home for the fish I no longer want and they will be going in the next couple of weeks! Although I do water changes daily to help keep the fish healthy and have only lost one adult fish but she was attacked by a CAE before I got rid of them!

24 UK gallons = 29 US gallons

So if that's the case, you'd be understocked. Even with 2 bristle nose plecs.

But only if the fry are removed and rehomed once mature - and the adults don't keep breeding in the mean time.

not sure but i think larger fast moving fish will eat fry keeping you from being over stocked. i think that would be stuff such as tiger barbs, 3-spot gouramis, tetras etc.......not sure on compatability of those though

Ok guys have a look at ours for me and see what you think

The tank is 24" High 28" front to back and 48" wide Its aprox 130Gals and my fish are what I have in my signature...whats your views on our stocking levels

Any suggestions??? )

edited to add the Plecos are of the small variety dont get bigger than 4-5 inches (or so I have been told) and the Leopard Frog is only 1 n 1/2 inches long Bless he looks like a fishy Bumble Bee )

Currently nicely understocked I would say

That of course means that your live bearers stay under control and don't breed like bunnies

Snowball plec (if LDA 33) can reach up to 10" - but I would have thought smaller in captivity
Para plec - 6"
Peopard Frog - 4.5 "
Bristlenose - 5"
10 Neons - 10"
5 Zebra Danio - 10"
5 Black Tetra - 10"
3 Dwarf Gourami - 6"
5 Platy - 15"
5 Molly - 15"
10 Guppies - 20"
4 Apple Snails - 4"

Total = 115.5" (roughly)
