rofl, don't get your hopes up too much hon, you'll be disapointed ;)
I did confirm it with the other half though, if it's gonna be saturday we'll be there!
If not, we might be able to just meet up on saturday anyway Wolfy? I'm sure a day at the zoo won't be such a bad thing =)

Hi All

I just looked up the web site for Blue Planet and it says it is advisable to book your tickets in advance for Bank Holiday Weekends. Adult Ticket is 10.25 and Group Bookings (15 people or more) is 9.00 per adult.

Just a little Question!! Are we doing Chester Zoo on the same day ? I would have thought it will be a bit of a rush. The Blue Planet being of M53/J 20 and Chester Zoo M53/J12.

Just a thought

A Lift is still on offer for people from the East Midlands.

Sabby :D

Whether chester zoo would happen or not would depend on what time we leave the blue planet aquarium :p While it's a great place to be, it's usually not a place where you can stay for more than 4 hours without getting bored. So if this would happen, and if enough people would be up for it I guess, Chester zoo is only about 15 minutes away. Not quite sure how to get there by public transport if some would not come by car. But they could probably get in the car with someone else :p

Saturday is thankfully still winning! Sunday I would probably be able to meet up with some as well, but only after 5 seeing as Peter will be working untill 4.
Monday is completely out of the question for me though, unless people would be interested in going to see a strongman show with me :p

i can't come as well i can't get there lol, would love to meet you all though.

:good:

Unless the traffic is bad Vixen, it'd only take you about 3.5 hours or so from North London, it's only about 200 miles and all motorways (M25, M1, M6, M56) + you could take a couple of others up to cut the costs of petrol down ;)

Another note for you, Sat 26th August @ 12:45 West Ham are playing Liverpool at Anfield, so there is likely to be a bit of traffic heading up there at about the same times as you guys ;)

15 minutes from the BP to Chester zoo is about right, maybe a little less. Real easy to get to as well but, I would forget it if I were y'all. You are just not going to have time to do both  .

I go to Chester Zoo at least twice a year with the OH and the kids and it really is a full day out. We normally arrive there about 9am - 10am and don't leave 'til after 5pm.

Granted, the BP is not a whole day out but if you are not starting there until 11am, it's likely you won't even get to Chester Zoo until after 3pm, which IMO will be a complete waste of money for the entrance fee.

I would go to the BP and then move across to the Colisseum (5 minute walk/1 minute drive) and have a bite to eat and a drink for an hour or two instead :good:

have fun...

Ian and Misswiggle thank you both but I don't fancy the train on my own and my mum's not to happy with me going all that way to meet 'strangers off the internet' (her words).

Thanks anyway

:good:

Hi

Blue planet is about a 2-3 hour max visit, I work at chester zoo ( Animal supplies department) and know the aquarium team quite well, if its a defo this trip I may beable to ask nicely to Mr Crumpler ( Head of the Aquarium) to give us 5 min to tell us what we do as concervation in aquaria.

Is this a formal, as in, do blue planet know about it? or is it just turn up and say hi?

As for public transport, there are two buses that go to either end of the zoo, I dont know details but i can find out.
