well, for the last week i have been fighting off a massive outbreak of whitespot in my fish only tank :(
the larger volitan lionfish was covered and had very milky eyes. been using oodinex and reducing salinity slowly over the last few days but he died late last night :(

woke up today andthe red toothed trigger looked horrible too!
have done the second dose of oodinex today and a 25% change with less salty water to try and reduce salinity a bit.
since i did this the trigger and other fish all look normal again..

i dont have high hopes for the survival of the rest of the fish, but fingers crossed!!!

Thanks Seffie :)
i hope things work out here, i really do!

if it does all go wrong and i lose them all, i wont be setting it up again until ive moved house at start of next year.
my reef tank is gonna be a pain to move!!

ill put a topic up for that when the time comes, needing peoples advice and what worked for them etc :D

well, a quick update.

all the fish in this tank are now dead :(

been to look at the new house today and tbh im not really feeling it.
so, i think im gonna stay here and just get this house looking good and whatnot.

looking for a 5ftx2ftx2ft now if anyone knows of one??

Sorry to hear about your stock! Hope you find a new tank and everything works out for you! :good:

sorry to hear about your
fish  i used to feel the
same when i was moving i got
real disheartened

i would get one made from a place like this http://www.ndaquatics.co.uk/?pg=details&ii=30

Sorry to read about your loss. I recently had an similar outbreak. After losing nearly $200USD of fish and wasting nearly $100USD on different medicines and salt I was told to use PraziPro! #40## that stuff is good and can go in your display tank. My Semi-Snowflake pulled a 180 and looks 100% this morning! She is the only survivor and only one who was dosed with PraziPro!

I share your loss, nearly had a major this weekend when I forgot to switch skimmer on after target feeding corals. Poor fish were on their last legs in the morning, lost a cleaner shrimp. Daughter totally gutted has it was her shrimp, she picked and named it

cheers guys :)

i also woke up yesterday to find my reef tank completely cloudy!
i couldnt get a water test done until the afternoon but within 3 hours it was perfectly clear !?!

could it have been a coral breeding thing? i have a lot of caulerpa in the tank but it all looked perfectly ok. if it had been a spike in bad stuff surely it wouldnt have cleared on its own? all the fish are fine and the corals are looking better than ever.
very odd indeed!
