Aww, what a cute little pleco! I've never been too fond of them either, but you get so attached it's hard to call them ugly!

The tank looks great!! It's really cool looking!

I hve two plecs and I love them to death. One is a 8 inch Sailfin and the other is a baby Common, less than two inches. They are the sweetest fish and I love them so. Are you starting to get attatched to your plec? He's quite the cutie.

the fish store i went to sold me a bottle of P Clear and polyester fill and it actually worked!! i'm so happy

The Pleco looks rather nice. However, that nasty red gravel is so ugly.

He looks like a sailfin catfish, they grow very large so watch out!

It's probably reached it's potential by now. Those pictures are from 2004. And it looked big in them then.

Well, the light on for one hour a day is a bad plan, cause its stressful to the fish (they need a regular day/night cycle).

Can you get a separate nitrate/nitrite reading? could be that the nitrate is quite high.

Also which filter are you using? theres no reral need for carbon in the filter, justuse a good external filter with sponge/ceramic media/bio balls really.

Finally, 3 more questions:

How big is the tank?

Have you tested your tap water (before adding it to the tank)?

Does the tank get any/alot of sunlight?
