Sorry if this is in the wrong section but would a tyre track eel be able to go in a mixed malawi tank? i saw one at the garden centre and it was in with a few haps

Most of my fish are mbuna and was wondering if it would be compatable

Here's your answer:

"Mastacembelus armatus, Tyre track eel; Tyre track eels are the largest of the commonly seen spiney eels and can reach lengths of up 40 inches, as with fire eels they are predators and will eat smaller fish. A 180 gallon tank is needed to house adult fish."

According to moderator CFC.

That's if it makes it to adulthood in a tank full of Malawis that can go for anything they regard as a threat or don't take a liking to... :hey:

no doubt Rick...lol and if it does make it to a decent size...bye bye fishes as they are swallowed by the eel
