Not sure if this has been posted before, sorry if it has.

I need to get more bettas. Right now I have 1 male CT. Soon I will have two 10 gallon tanks opening up. In these 10 gallons my CT I have now will go in one and I will get another one for the other. Right now my CT is in a 2.5 hexagonal tank with a light. When I get more tanks will the 2.5-3 gallon hexagonal tanks with lights be much better then a 2.5 gallon bowl? If there is not much of a difference I will have to go with more bowls over the hexagonals because of cost.

Its all in personal preference my friend. If you are looking to load up your house with bettas then you would want to go with the bowls since they are less expensive, If you're looking to just get 3 or so bettas then getting the hexagonal tanks with the light and hood may be the way you want to go. It all depends on what you want to do.

Lights don't really make a difference except to a) make the tank look cool and bring out the fish's color better, B) allow you to have live plants, and c) grow algae quicker. ;) If you're not concerned with those things, then I say go for the bowls, just as long as you can make a lid for them so the betta doesn't jump out. :)

Ok, thanks for the help. I think I am going to get around 3-4 hexagon tanks and then if I want more bettas after that I will go for the bowls.

You could always divide the 10 gal so you can have 4 bettas. I did that w/my 10gal, 5gal apiece is more than enough. To cut down on flaring, I put several silk plants of differing heights up against the divider, so that they can't see each other all the time.
