Type of cory?

I've had this cory for just over two years now, and I'm afraid I don't think I've ever discovered what type it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It looks like a Blackfin Corydoras or the False Spotted Catfish. Thats another name for it. But the dorsal fin of the species im talking about is one whole one but maybe your cory was nipped in the middle of the dorsal fin and it never grew back.

Yeah i'd watch out for that damaged fin too, might be best to treat the cory with some Melafix as so to help prevent fin rot or other secondary infections from settling into his fin while it heals.

I should've mentioned that its fin is damaged and not born that way, silly me =P A firemouth got ahold of him a little while ago (said firemouth is currently back at the fish store). Is it possible for a fin to not grow back together? I'm unsure of exactly how long his fin has been this way but as of yet he hasn't shown any discomfort and the condition hasn't changed any (perhaps it hasn't gotten worse, but just hasn't begun to heal yet?)

Nevermind, Its made a strange spurt of health over the last couple of nights... not really sure what it is. Maybe the change in diet made him heal faster? (Was used to flake food, now mostyl mysis and some flake?)
