Its always interesting how countries differ, here i can get indian almond leaves from trees growing around the streets and compounds around the area i think its the same tree we call it talisay over here in the philippines

I think this is a great idea, I've been looking for a neutral blackwater preparation for my betta tank for awhile. What's so bad about the tea bag? I could always cut the teabag open, and fit the leave in the intake tube of my UGF, with some filter floss to prevent it from escaping into the water.

I managed to get some Rooibos, works just as well and no yukky scum I'll try using it as a spawning trigger when I've conditioned a few pairs. I'll also get a pH test kit and see whether it lowers it much.

I tried using some peat filter material in an old popsock in my FW but to no avail.

Then I bought some of Andy's t-bags from greenline.com and they do the job brill, plus they're good for my plants!

Same with me...after all its an Indian almond leaf BTW. Do we use dried leaves or fresh ones? Sorry for hijacking the thread
