hello,
can u please explain ur setup?
for baby turtles, u should feed pellets everyday and once they get 4 inches, feed evryother day with veggies in between
u can start turtles off with veggies when they are young. u can feed romaine lettuce, carrots, ancharis (aquatic plant) zuccini and tomatoes. u can feed other things but it depends on what u feed.
NO spinach or iceburg lettuce. it has NO nutritional value for turtles. spinahch is bad for turtles so dont feed it.
for treats, u can feed them shrimps, worms (i wouldnt feed waxworms..) and crcikets. u cnn use feeder fish but only use it as a treat maybe once a month. ONLY use rosie red minnows. NO goldfish becayse they are too fatty and not good for turtles.
u can also feed turtles feeder guppies and some shiner minnows. minnows have a lot of vitamins and is good for turtles but only as a treat =]
u should have a tank that is 10 gallons per inch of sahell. so if u have a 3 inch turtles, ull need a 30 gallon tank.
u should have lighting. a regular bulb over the basking area and a uvb.uva bulb as well. the uvb is very imoportnant cuz it helps in the developing and shedding of the turtles shell. it also helps them digest food.
u shoul;d have a basking which i see u have in the pic
you should have a heater and the water temps should be in the 80's
basking temp should be around 80 or 90 degrees. u should have a heater for the water. and a powerful filter becuz turtles are VERY messy!
i think ive got most of the stuff but if i forgt anyhting or u have any questions, please ask! i have turtl;es myself and i noe alot about them =]
oh and u can add more water. they love swimming =]
and meat shouldnt be fed too much. only as a treat. try unseasond chicken, and they eat any meat, unseasoned tho
