Hi guys!!! havnt been on here for a while, so hope every one and every fish etc are ok! :)

my fish are fine, though i have lost 2 unfortunately :( one was very unexpected, and the other was just today(though he didnt like right the past couple of days). the others are doing fine though im happy to report!!

anyway, i went to pick up some plants from the lfs today and whilst i was there i spent about 15 minutes looking at the gorgeous baby turtles they have in!! i so badly wanted to come home with 2 of them, they were so cute and gorgeous!! but obviously i have no idea about them! plus, i have no space for them right now!

i did ask the guy in the fish shop about them and he told me a little but thought you guys might be able to tell me more about their care? as you can imagine, a search on google turned up like a million pages! so any good links would be really helpful!

though i wont be able to get any for a long time, im still very interested in learning about these fascinating creatures!

Thanks in advance! :D

PS. if anyone has any pics of theirs id love to see them!!

They are probably read eared sliders. I had two until they got to big them put them in a friends pond that she has for turtles.
:D

turtles are like £50 in my lfs and terrapins are £175

:S Your LFS must be on some kind of crazy drugs! Turtles and Terrapins including adults are really worth no more than £30 each maximum :good:

Currently in UK trade you are much more likely to see Yellow Bellied sliders ;) either way FishGirl, they will grow much bigger than they currently are and look a lot less cute to most people pretty soon :/

Here's a link to my own Yellow Bellied Sliders caresheet B) I hope it helps a little ;)

You should find out the exact species/types the turtles are as there are doezens of types sold. Secondly, many turtles sold can grow to the size of dinner plates and require at least a 5-6ft long tank, so if you are lacking in the tank space department right now it would probably be best to hold off buying them for now  .
