Turtle

It's generally not a good idea as most turtles (if not all) will eat smaller fish. First off what species of turtle are you thinking of? Also, a 45gallon is pretty small for a turtle, turtles aswell need a basking spot and UV lighting, in a full fish tank you won't have an area of dry land for them nor a basking light. Turtles are big and messy and need alot of filtration, with the fish in there the bio-load on the tank will be extremly high.

Basically the answer is no...

yes i agree, turtles will eat the fish, and most turtles prefer to have some sort of dry land and special heating so they can bathe in the "sun" :D`
i used to have a turtle for over 4 years so i know this.

turtles NEED a way to get out of the water. just like a alligator or water snake or frog does.

yes they do. if you see how they have it in stores, they have a ledge, water, heater, and a good light.

how sad for those turtles :(

I really don't understand why people think turtles can do well in small tanks anyway.45g is small for a turtle,20g even smaller.
I have 2 red ear slider turtles, they have a 300 gallon stock tank,as in what is used on farms. Not as flattering, but i'm eventually going to have it so that the tank is "hidden"& it'll be like an indoor pond. I just got to get a custom enclosure. So like the tank becomes the pond part& they'll have a bigger basking area. They have a big basking area now,but I want to make it look more natural.Turtles are a lot of work.If you put fish in with them, the fish are more than likely going to become a snack...please really research,& "land" turtles? You wouldn't put them in an aquarium at all...if you mean tortoises that is? They have custom enclosures not in an aquarium.& They are preferred to be outside, although you can keep them inside too.Really really research though. :good:

Turtles need proper lighting& not just fed those pellets at pet stores! & A filter ...a GREAT filter is a MUST.
