Turtle vs. Minnow

It just shows the turtle catching and eating a little minnow and also another part where the owner holds the minnow over the water and the turtle comes up and eats it and that about it.
Good filming though.
Personally i don't realy have anything against that kind of thing, its just what happens in the wild anyway and we have thousands of animals alive today that wouldn't be here if they didn't eat other animals.
True but you're not gonna find a turtle in the wild eating out of a humans hand not often atleast  . Is that a cory I saw? Hopefully he doesn't get munched on too... I love the idea of keeping native fish very enjoyable to watch!

Trevelyn, I have a few questions. How big is the turtle? What size tank? How the hell do you keep it planted?! Any time I put plants in my turtle tank they either bite the crap out of them, tear them up, or both. And what do you have to help them get out of the water? Just wondering, cuz they things I have tried haven't worked that well.
Sean
EDIT: Also, what size/kind of filter?
i have a red eared slider and a razorback musk turtle...

the red eared slider is about 2.5" and the razorback musk is about 1.5"...

the plants are all artificial, i haven't done planted yet, but i might...

the tank is a 55 gallon tank(different than the video, i just got it)

55gallon.jpg

i have a turtle dock(which floats) and is an easy way for them to get out and bask...

i run dual aqua-tech 40-60 filters...(so i basically have enough filtration for a 120 gallon tank, on a 55 gallon)...

i do have some corydoras in there, and the turtle has never attacked them. i have plecos, and they have never had any problems... i keep a few shiners and some sunfish and they have also been fine.

the only fish he chases(and catches) have been minnows(i catch in creeks)... it's like he knows what fish are food, and which aren't. i have the r.e.s. trained, now...

all i have to do is whistle and shake his food can and he comes to me and i feed him. sometimes, i have to feed him by hand, or my fish take his turtle pellets.

i hand feed him a minnow every couple of days...

today, the perch(sunfish) yanked the minnow out of the turtles mouth, and ate it...

turtles are a ton of fun. i just ordered a baby alligator snapping turtle, and should have it next week or so... (i can't wait)...

it is going to have it's own 10 gallon, as he will be a very aggressive turtle...(but only about 1.5" long)

What are you gonna do with him in the future they get huge!!!!

Don't stick your hand to close to his mouth it will snap ya in two! They're mean little buggers.

That's a beautiful tank, and a good-looking turtle. The video was interesting.... Funny how the fish steals right from the turtle's mouth.

Hey trevelyn I just got two 50 cent piece size painted turtles today. I got them from a local fishing spot and I can net them plus different types of baby fish: bass, brim, white perch, shoepick. I am thinking of starting up a pond or a tank like yours.
I can even get some alligator snapping turtles too.

Ya, my cons sometimes snatch food from my turtles mouth. Playing with fire, the little buggers are.

Woooah, nice vid! The turtle is so cute!
Watching this makes me want to start up a native tank... that perch is so awesome!

 you rock, Trev... i love the line "and this is why we only keep native fish in the turtle tank..."
well, it isn't entirely true...

there is a guorami in there, a red tinfoil barb, 2 pleco's and, and 3 cory's...

but once i get out of my dorm, it'll only be native fish, 3 turtles, the cory's, and the pleco's...

i can't wait for my alligator snapping turtle baby to get here...

2 more days... :) <- me excited

p.s. - i found the coolest rock in a local creek today... here is a pic of it:
