I would like to know if turtle algae is a bad thing for a 24g nano, Im thinking of adding a small rock with it on but not too sure if it will be a bad idea, will it spread and go out of control? Thank you

Got an ID for your algae? I tried Googling it, but I don't really get a definitive answer. I know of Turtle Weeds, Turtle Grasses....so its not a very distinctive common name im afraid!

Ah the real name for it is (Chlorodesmis sp.) or Maiden's Hair Plant. Here's a link to it. http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cl...;articleid=2053

Ah, I like Chlorodesmis sp. and personally have some. If you dont want something that could potentially invade, id say stay away. It grows mad under MH lighting. It also grows well under intense flow (not laminar preferably). :good: Not a "Bad" thing as such, because aesthetically its great to look at (swaying like an anemone) but it could be intrusive, and with no predators, i would be hard to remove.
