Hi Everyone - happy new year!

I went away for christmas and came back to find my tunicate colony has developed some sort of discolouration of the flesh. They have black patches on them, and two of them aren't opening up. One has disintegrated altogether. I have also developed some black film on the sand, but although it might be that on the tunicate I don't think it is - it doesn't have the wispiness of the film.

Whilst away the person I left in charge of the tank forgot about rinsing the food, so my phosphates are up to 1 :grr: , everything else water-wise is fine.

Does anyone know what this is and what can be done?

Thanks

Tunicates tend not to do so well in captivity. I cannot recommend any sort of specific treatment, but if you keep your water conditions high and continue feeding they should pull through.

Ok - thanks for the reassurance. I've switched to 'Microvert' for feeding. Do you know it, is it OK?
