Using the estimative index approach how much of chalated trace elements should I dose in a 30g tank and how often a week?

That's a difficult question to answer.

I know Tom Barr advises to dose 5 mls of traces 3 x a week per 20 gals. I think it all depends on which product you are using. If you were using Plantex CSM +B, you could mix 1 tablespoon in 250 mls of water and then dose 5 mls of that solution 3 x a week per 20 gals.

So how do I prepare the mixture? 2 tablespoons in 500 ml water? Then add 5 ml to the tank?

Please note that my chelated trace mix is called "Microplex" and it is in the liquid form. The ingrediens of "Microplex" are:
N 10% (5% ammonium + 5% nitrite)
Fe 1%
Zn 2.5%
Mn 1%
Cu 0.1%
Co 0.02%
Mo 0.005%

That's right.

You can either add 1 tablespoon to 250 mls or 2 tablespoons to 500 mls. You then just dose 5 mls per 20 gals from the solution you have made 3 times a week. Keep the solution in a container and it should last you several weeks.

My Microplex is in a liquid form....is that the correct thing to make the mixture or does it have to be a poweder?

Sorry, I don't know much about Microplex. I thought it just came in a powdered form like Plantex.

Have you decided which method you are going to use? Only you have been asking questions on PMDD and EI. If you are going to dose the EI way, you will get help here from several people. Your Microplex isn't the best though, because it contains nitrates and you will be dosing macros and micros together. Not recommended for EI dosing.

However, if you wish to pursue PMDD, I think it will be ok for that. As far as I know there aren't many people using PMDD on this forum. This link may help you if you haven't already seen it.
